The study below negotiates two topics: a. the museum; b. the stratification of the surface of the ground, and, more generally, the issue of the terrain in the modern city. Although, at first sight, these may seem rather different subjects, this study is in part an experimentation on the relation between the two. More specifically, in Athens, the relation between the two begins to become more intelligible as its historic soil and sub-soil form the familiar Attic landscape, into which, however, is interpolated the realism of a contemporary megalopolis: modern Athens.
